My
story starts as a passenger in a car accident with a wicked huge wooden object in the road
(apparently fallen off of a truck). I landed with my head in the windshield (seatbelts
were not mandatory then). My injuries were substantial including a broken wrist, knee, and
many facial.
I
had several chipped front teeth. My dentist was concerned about further damage not yet
visible. We decided to check each tooth that was in question. Fortunately, the damage was
only with a few chipped teeth. We reviewed several options, and concluded that my smile
would be best restored with porcelain veneers. I didn’t know such a thing had
existed, and had expected the dentist to just file them down. There was enough tooth left
in each case that removing the teeth and placing implants in their place was not
necessary.
The
procedure was a lot simpler than I thought, and the color of the porcelain matched my
other teeth perfectly. The end results were technically perfect and provided me with a
beautiful smile.
