At a Summer picnic I was enjoying a fabulous seafood salad when I felt some
odd grit in my mouth. It didn't take long to discover that I had chipped a tooth.
Naturally, my tongue kept hitting the area all the time and became sore. I had a cleaning
appointment coming up in a few days, so I waited until then.
My dentist quickly ground the rough edge so it was
comfortable, but the tooth had an odd shape at the top odd it now. My dentist explained
that through some minor contouring and reshaping it could easily be fixed. He pointed out
that the same procedure would correct some areas where my teeth were either an irregular
shape or slightly overlapped. I had wanted to those things corrected long ago, but thought
it would only involve braces.
I went for it. There was no pain at all, didn't
even cost much, and a few visits later I have a whole new smile - a smile better than I
ever dreamt I could have without spending tens of thousands of dollars!
