About Dr. Bruce W. Hartley About the Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry
When making porcelain veneers, most cosmetic dentists allow the laboratory ceramist to determine critical aesthetic proportions such as tooth shape, angle, width, length and arrangement. Dr. Hartley is one of a handful of cosmetic dentists worldwide who takes responsibility for determining all of these critical aesthetic factors by creating a full form cosmetic mock up on the patient's own teeth. This technique developed by Dr. Hartley is called the Bio-Aesthetic Prototype. The prototype is artistically created using resins to blend naturally with a patient's gums, lips, smile and face shape. Both Dr. Hartley and the patient can then evaluate the aesthetics of the prototype and make changes as necessary. This allows the patient to "preview" the final result and set expectations. A resin copy of the prototype is then used as a temporary veneer, which further allows the patient to evaluate the aesthetics of the new smile at home, and live with it on a trial basis. Finally, the lab receives a model of the prototype and then faithfully reproduces the defined aesthetic proportions for the new veneers, thereby eliminating any guesswork on their part. This unique method allows Dr. Hartley to artistically create consistently beautiful, natural looking smiles that complement the individual facial features of each patient. From the Diode Laser for gum recontouring, to Cad Cam assisted Invisalign orthodontics, Dr. Hartley stays current on all the latest advances in cosmetic dental science. He has developed techniques in cosmetic dentistry and has lectured to dental groups and laboratory technicians. The Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry's state of the art dental facility is comfortable, modern, inviting, and artfully decorated in warm soothing colors. Aromatherapy candles burn throughout the office set against the background sounds of water sculpture fountains. During treatment, patients are invited to relax in back massaging dental chairs while listening to their favorite music CDs. Warm neck and eye pillows further aid in your total comfort. After dipping your hands into a soothing paraffin bath, you are then wrapped in a warm blanket to complete your feeling of well-being. When your treatment is completed, warm lemon scented towels are given to freshen your hands and face. Certification/Professional Memberships
